Re: leftButtonClicked signal not firing in plugin

We'll just have to find something else than 'ALT' (it's already used to select multiple entities). ALT is the modifier that is probably most commonly used for this, at least for DCC applications. It's what Maya uses [1] and nearly everybody else has either adopted that convention or at least offers...

Re: Pick rotation center

Even better would be to rotate around the point underneath the cursor. That is, do a ray cast every time the user clicks the mouse to initiate a rotation and use the first point found as the rotation center. This method works really well for efficiently navigating around irregularly shaped objects. ...

Re: leftButtonClicked signal not firing in plugin

I don't mean to hijack this thread but I've been wanting to spend some time looking at CloudCompare's UI and how its user efficiency could be improved. Particularly with regard to the use of interactive tools. This process of switching between navigating the scene and using a tool is one of the firs...

Re: Error opening 2.7 over remote desktop

Hardware acceleration doesn't work with Microsoft's Remote Desktop client and the Geforce drivers. It looks like software opengl isn't implemented as a fallback any more in CC so it crashes. The Quadro driver's do support hardware acceleration over remote desktop. Various third party remote desktop ...

Re: Quadro vs Geforce performance of Cloudcompare ?

Daniel: maybe we could post a reference "large" point cloud (200 millions points) in .bin format so that users could post their FPS and associated hardware configuration ? I actually started working on this several months ago but got distracted and never got around to publishing it. Seein...

Re: Some improvement suggestions

I think these are all good suggestions. I'd like to comment a little on the transform suggestions as that is a feature I use a lot in other applications. For the reasons you state having the transform exposed as an object property would be really nice. It would actually be great to have both a local...

Re: [Done] Global shift add-ons

I like the shift/scale dialog. For the local coordinates could the number of digits after the decimal point be adjusted dynamically to indicate the approximate number of significant digits that can be expected? Or maybe show all of the digits, but highlight in red the ones that might be lost to roun...

Re: Global shift add-ons

I'll admit I haven't used the Global Shift functionality in CC much but coming from other software where it is a per-project setting I know that even just having one additional transform can cause confusion when moving between projects. Potentially having two transforms for every object seems like i...
