Hi Daniel,
I tried to convert color to scalar field in v2.6.2 and the resulting scalars (any of them) had only 0 and 1 values instead of ranging from 0 to 255. I checked the same cloud in v2.5.4 and the operation worked fine.

I use to import XYZ files in .bin files one by one and then create groups to organize them. Is there a way to import and group a number of point clouds automatically?
