Stop, I take it all back
It's exactly the command I've been missing for a long time.
(Did it already exist in older versions?)
It allows me to automatically split a LAS file that has existing classifications as ScalarField.

No documentation of: "Split cloud (integer value)"
As the headline says, in my 2.12.2 version there is the command:
"Split cloud (integer value)".
However, I have not yet found any documentation or figured out what the command does.

Re: Wall Flatness
There are several ways...
You can select a section and generate an idealised rectangle as a shape and then compare them with each other.
(EDIT -> PLANE -> FIT)
(TOOLS -> DISTANCES -> CLOUD/PRIMITIVE)

Re: Terrain Navigation mode
Almost all geocoordinates define the terrain surface with X/Y.
And I know that a lot of people work with geocoordinates.
(Otherwise CloudCompare would not need the internal coordinate shortening. Local coordinates could be shorter).

Re: Terrain Navigation mode
Ok, here are the examples.
I think you can see that it runs faster and more intuitively in Metashape.
CloudCompare:

Metashape terrain mode.

Re: Terrain Navigation mode
Thanks for the quick answer!
Unfortunately, locking the axle doesn't help.
It is difficult to explain.
Maybe I will make a video soon.
When the Z axis is locked I can no longer swing up/down.
(Why are there actually numerical values and no option fields?)
Here is the explanation from the ...

No more current information on the MLS PlugIn
Hello.
Actually, the MLS plugin is very "powerful".
Unfortunately, the link in the CloudCompare WIKI runs into a dead end. (404)
Is this plugin still maintained by anyone?
I have the problem that an RGB point cloud completely loses its colour after smoothing.
Surely this can be fixed in a ...

Terrain Navigation mode
I use CloudCompare very often and like it.
However, if you often jump back and forth between different cloud programmes, it is sometimes difficult to navigate.
I find it particularly difficult to navigate in CloudCompare.
One mode that can be set in Metashape, for example, is "terrain mode".

Comparison of fixed points to the point cloud?
Hello.
I have invited a terrain as a point cloud.
Now I have some levelled fixed points in this terrain.
(Invited as second point cloud.)
I want a list or overview how far the point cloud differs from the leveled fixed points. (Z-axis)
Over "distance" at "tools" I only get another "SF" point ...
