The issue occurs also with the release 2.13.alpha.
Nevertheless we did a test on other computers with different graphical card and the visualizzation works properly. Your guess was correct.

We experienced a similar issue.
On CloudCompare v.2.11 we exported a mesh, with color and normals, as ply file.
When we load the mesh stored as ply file with CloudCompare v.2.13.2 on Mac OS, the visualization is ok.

I have a point cloud and a mesh. I can easily compute the distance between the points and the mesh.
