Hello,
I've been trying to find a setting that would turn off the "snapping" when I rotate a could in the 3D view.
I hope I am using the correct terminology. So, when I rotate a cloud, using my mouse, if I pass close by the position where it was before I started the rotation, the could will snap ...

Global Shift Settings for Guitar Scan Sizes
Hello,
I just discovered the Global Shift Settings and read through the description in this box.

It is my understanding that Cloud Compare is used a lot for large clouds, such as landscapes.
Since I will only be using it for 3D scans of guitars, what ...

Re: Fine adjustments on translate/rotate tool
Thank you for this tip.c3kkos wrote: Fri Dec 05, 2025 10:54 am I found that the rotation/translation increment method is WAY more flexible and precise compared to the mouse.
Coarse transformations with mouse, fine with steps
Although, I am struggling to find the increment method with steps. Where is that adjustment please?

Fine adjustments on translate/rotate tool
Greeting,
In some cases I need to use the Translate/Rotate tool to make fine adjustments in the rotation of the cloud. At times I am unable to rotate precisely, because the cloud snaps into the nearest increment.
Is there a way to disable this snapping? Or perhaps to increase the resolution of ...

Re: Tool: Perform Normal Distance Measurements Against a Plane
Thank you vey much for the link.
I did visit that page and I do have a registered profile but I can't see how I can post a question on GitHub. That is not a platform that I use so I don't know how to navigate.
There's also a small detail that I don't think works quite right with the MPlane tool ...

Tool: Perform Normal Distance Measurements Against a Plane
Hello,
I just started using the tool "Perform Normal Distance Measurements Against a Plane" and am quite liking it, but I have a few questions.
Is it possible to control any of the parameters of the plane, such as size, color, opacity?
Thank you.

Re: Point Cloud Trimmed off when Zooming
I am half answering my own question here.
I re-discovered that this is the "near clipping depth" adjustment, which I see that I can change by scrolling up and down on my mouse, while holding down the command button, on my Mac.
However, this adjustment is tedious. Is there a more straightforward ...

Point Cloud Trimmed off when Zooming
Hello all,
This is something that I've noticed on two projects, so far.
When I want to zoom in, on extreme close up details, the point cloud gets trimmed off, as if it is passing an invisible plane that makes anything past that plane invisible.
I'm including a screen shot that shows how the ...

Re: Open and Save not working in Mac OS 15.4.1
Thank you for this. It is helpful.
Since I don't understand that coding stuff at the end of the github discussion I just deactivated the option "Use native load /save dialogs" in the Display Settings, and it worked.
Thank yuo.
