Re: Point Picking on Wireframe Planes
That's great.
Thank you Daniel
I confirm point picking is now working on wireframe meshes.
it works with the tool AND by SHIFT clicking "on the fly" mode.

Re: Point Picking on Wireframe Planes
Up! i've read once again this and thinked it can be simpler than that...
just handle the vertices as points (regular plain "point cloud" point) WHILE in wireframe mode

Those little squared dots are messed up vmem. 99% chance here that the graphic driver is the only one "guilty"

Re: Point Cloud to Hollow (Wireframe-like) mesh
The see-through you are seeking is only a method to render the mesh, hence it is not format dipendent.
Anyhow, almost every software has, at least, the wireframe display mode; it is one of the simplest.
Now let's talk about fitting the mesh upon your point cloud:

Re: Exporting different formats results in different coordinates
I've rotated and traslated the original cloud, yes.
I used the default tool for manual alignment with targets within the cloud and applied the resulting transformation.
Then, i sliced up the big cloud.
I do confirm that exporting a slice in .pts and .e57 formats do produce exact results using ...

Re: CloudCompare (almost) freeze very often
Never had that issue, and i'm using CC from back 2017 to say at least.
Are you sure u do get those artifacts only inside CC?

The job is done using "CloudCompare_v2.13.2.preview_bin_x64" dated 30/06/25

Re: Exporting different formats results in different coordinates
Workflow:
bigger point clound inside a standard, cc's .bin file.
Used X tool to slice it up, to export only the tiny slice into other software for development.
At this point i had to chose point cloud format for the other sw. it can be either .e57, las/laz OR plain ascii .pts
Decided to go with ...

Re: Exporting different formats results in different coordinates
Uhm, scale and orientation issue still there.
Wrong scale is not a big deal anyway. easy fix
Orientation is critical
I clicked NO on both imports when asked to apply global transformations
Also tryied clicking YES at everything, resulting in .e57 point cloud traslated and nothing else.
