Hi all,
Super green and new to mapping. We have an autel RTK v3 EVO and I've just completed my first mission which only produced a handful of images and the necessary bin, mrk and obs files. I'm attempting to use CloudCompare but when I do, something looks horribly wrong.
This is the dialog after clicking open:
First: Hum, do you really expect to load 1138557139 points clouds?
Then: cloud 1/1138557139 (978321456 points)
I can't figure out why it's attempting 1 billion clouds, not only points, any suggestions would really help me out.
New To CloudCompare Issue opening .bin files
Re: New To CloudCompare Issue opening .bin files
Hi,
This means that the BIN file is not a CloudCompare BIN file, but something else (after all, 'bin' only means 'binary' so many devices or program can probably generate files with this extenstion).

Re: New To CloudCompare Issue opening .bin files
Hi Daniel,
Thank you so much for clarifying. I've never worked with bin files in the past so this is all new to me.
Do you have any recommendations on how to get the original bin files from the RTK into a file type that will work in CloudCompare?

Sadly this kind of file can generally only be opened with a proprietary tool provided (for $$$) by the scanner manufacturer...
