2D Profile Generation

I am trying to create a 2D profile for a section of rail tunnel. I am able to use the polyline and create section clouds and corresponding 2D profiles, but the software smooths out the profiles too much and I lose the height of the profile. How can I create these profiles without using the railheads?

Have you changed the 'max edge length' parameter when extracting the contours? (so as to have a more refined contour)
