Big size of bin file. Impossible to re-open file

Using V2.14, I import 3 laserscanning file (e57) to analyse the deformation of a tank (1.5Gb per scan for a total of 100.000.000 points ).

I never meet problem till now.
I merge it, save it in bin format, the size of the file +-3.5GB
I'm working with the data. Clean the pointcloud, cut some parts and compare with a theorical cylindre i create.
In the past for this kind of project the bin file is around 6-7 GB.

But actually, after each saving, the size of the file is grouwing to 20->45GB. Not normal, just to use the data (i don't import more data).
When i close the software, impossible to re-open the bin file.

Is it due to the upgrade to windows11 ? A problem with V.2.14?
I downgrade to version 2.12. -> impossible to read

Do you have suggestion?

That's very weird. As if something was duplicated in your data while you process it.

Do you maybe have a lot of 'scan grids' in your clouds? (you can see that in the cloud properties). If you split your clouds a lot, these scan grids will be copied over to the new cloud each time. And they can be really big. If yes, you can try to remove the scan grids (with Edit > Grid > Delete scan grids).
